* * * Risk Assumption & Liability Release I am aware that hot air balloon flights are a
potentially dangerous activity. Risks that I may be exposed to include, but are
not limited to, loss of or damage to personal property, accident or illness in
remote places without medical facilities or immediate access to such facilities,
fire, falling, fatality, injury, and motor vehicle accidents. I am aware that
balloons land in rough terrain, and that balloon gondolas commonly slide To reduce risk to myself and other occupants,
I agree to follow the pilot’s instructions throughout the flight and during
landing. While the balloon is landing, I agree to 1) keep my entire body inside
the gondola, 2) securely hold on to a secured gondola component (handholds, fuel
tanks, uprights, or other secured item), and 3) keep my body in a flexible
position, including bending my knees, in preparation for contact with the
ground. I agree to remain inside the gondola until the pilot instructs me to
exit. Since atmospheric conditions are unique from
day to day, I understand that the pilot With this knowledge I am voluntarily participating in hot air ballooning activities and assume and accept all risks, known and unknown. I, my assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians, and legal representatives (hereinafter referred to as “I”) release, indemnify and hold harmless TBF from all actions, claims, and/or demands that I may have for injury, damage or loss resulting from my participation in hot air ballooning activities, howsoever caused, including negligence and acts of nature, and will not make claim against TBF for any injury, damage or loss resulting from ballooning activities. I have read this document and understand its full content. I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between TBF and myself, and sign it of my own free will.
